There is a good trail beaten into the scree. The only scrambling section other than the approach headwall is just above Jon here.

The down climbs aren't an issue if you're used to scrambling and have dry conditions like we did.

Mount Joffre looms over Marlborough. I would snowshoe up to both of these summits in late June of 2014.

Mount Nivelle and the Castelnau Glacier are barely visible through the smoky haze. Other peaks around Nivelle include, McCuaig, De Gaulle, Castelnau and Ney.
