Jon on the easy west ridge of Sarrail. There is a good trail beaten into the scree. The only scrambling section other than the approach headwall is just above Jon here.Gorgeous views back down the west ridge with Warrior, Waka Nambe, Aster Lake, Onslow, King George and the Royal Group, NorthoverVern and Rod on the west ridge with Aster Lake and Creek to the left.Great view over Aster Lake and Creek of Warrior Mountain and its striking appendage, Waka Nambe.Great views of the ridge of Rod coming up to the scrambling section. The down climbs aren't an issue if you're used to scrambling and have dry conditions like we did.Upper Kananaskis Lake in the foreground with Lower Kananaskis Lake beyond from the summit.Mount Joffre looms over Marlborough. I would snowshoe up to both of these summits in late June of 2014.Jon takes in the incredible views from the spacious summit of Mount Sarrail.Foch at right.I love this shot of Jon with Mount Foch on the left.Another view over the Upper and Lower Kananaskis Lakes (car parked to the right) with the Opal Range beyond.Mount Nivelle and the Castelnau Glacier are barely visible through the smoky haze. Other peaks around Nivelle include, McCuaig, De Gaulle, Castelnau and Ney.Vern, Rod and Jon at the summit.Foch and Petain on the left and Joffre at center looming over Marlborough. Cordonnier and Warrior to the right of Joffre and Northover on the rightJon descends the west ridge.Rod and Jon approach the only slightly scrambly section of the west ridge.
